Access to the island is by a rental rowing boat, included in the price. There are also several boat launching ramps on the island, so you’re welcome to bring your own boat if you prefer. In winter, the hut is easily accessible by snowmobile, skis, or snowshoes. The hut includes a small outdoor sauna (located in the same building with a separate entrance), perfect for relaxing after a day spent outdoors.

If using the included boat or taking the shortest route in winter, access to the island starts via road Rehupolku. There’s a dedicated parking spot marked with a Fishing Hut sign along the road Peuratie.

From there, a small trail-like path leads to the shore, about 250 meters away. One guest humorously described it as “a trail that doesn’t quite fit a size 45 shoe crosswise.” The trail passes through forest and partly swampy terrain. In wetter areas, there are small ditches with new bridges (replaced in May–June 2023). From the shore, it’s just a short 250-meter row or ski trip to your private island retreat.

We recommend wearing rubber boots when walking from the parking spot to the island.

In spring and winter 2023, our handyman Jari carried out some maintenance work on the hut. During summer 2023, mattresses, pillows, and blankets were replaced to improve your comfort.

This place is a true gem for nature lovers. Some people absolutely love it, some might find it too rustic. Come and experience it yourself!

The pet fee is included in the rental price!

What our guests say:

Overall, the week was perfect for us. The place was paradise. We didn’t need any additions to the cottage, we love that the cottage is truly a cottage and not a villa. If there’s anything to improve, perhaps a bit of maintenance on the path and maybe a jetty on the island. But then again, if you build a jetty, someone will probably jump headfirst onto a rock anyway! Thanks again, and we will definitely come back in the future.
Kind regards, Anna and Kim
